Residents Concerned over Proposed Stadium

The Gastown Residents Association was formed to express concerns over the proposed Whitecaps Stadium, which will bring crowds (up to 15000 people) and noise to the streets every 2 or 3 days throughout the summer. Also seriously at issue are the effects on Gastown Heritage district and the sharp contrast between the heritage buildings and the monolithic structure of the proposed 165 foot high stadium, built over the tracks on a podium structure. It will eliminate views, and destroys any future options of more neighbourhood friendly developments. You can become a member by emailing info@gastownresidents.ca. Or going to their site. Also, check out the Neighbourhood Coalition (which includes business and residents) website.
